We know plans change. This page explains exactly what happens — and what, if anything, it costs — when you cancel a booking on Kashi Boat Rides. These terms apply automatically in the app; nothing here requires you to contact support to action a standard cancellation.
Select high-demand event dates require a 50% advance payment via UPI to confirm your seat, shown clearly before you book. Because boat capacity for these dates is limited and boatmen are booked specifically for the event, advance payments for special event bookings are non-refundable once paid, except where the ride is cancelled by us (see below). The remaining balance is paid directly to your boatman and is only charged if you take the ride.
Where a cancellation fee applies, it is not charged to a card — it is added to your account as a pending balance, which is collected in cash on your next ride, or directly if you contact us.
Occasionally we may need to cancel a booking — for example, due to unsafe river conditions, a boatman becoming unavailable at short notice, or a wider safety advisory. In every case where we cancel:
Where a refund is due for an online advance payment, it is initiated within 24–48 hours and typically reflects in your original payment method within 5–7 working days, depending on your bank or UPI provider.
If you do not arrive at your pickup ghat within a reasonable time of your scheduled slot and do not contact us, the booking may be treated as a same-day cancellation under the terms above.
